EU banks: no agreement on Basel 3 by the end of the year

The agreement on the Basel 3 rules will not arrive by the end of the year. The Cypriot presidency of the EU said so. An expected conclusion given the progress of the last meetings with the European Parliament and the European Commission.

The Commission itself had already indicated that there would be a 'slight delay' in the entry into force of the rules on capital and liquidity requirements as well as for all the others established under the Basel 3 framework.

The original agreement was to start from January 2013, XNUMX. With the American decision not to respect this date, the European race has also been slowed down.
