More than 15 million euros in reimbursements, 6.200 cases in progress and a further thousand taken over. These are the numbers that summarize the trend of the flat-rate compensation operations in favor of the savers of Banca Etruria, Banca Marche, Carichieti and Cariferrara, the four institutions placed in liquidation by the Government with the Salvabanche decree of 22 November last year.
Salvatore Paterna, Fitd's deputy general manager, provided the data above and also provided Ansa with further details relating to the sums allocated to each saver: "To date, payments of less than 50 thousand euros represent 96,9% 20% of these are below 85” but the vast majority, “63,3%” is for amounts below “10 euros”.
Paterna also explained that, "compared to the initial estimate of 6.500 investors" potentially involved in the 80% repayment mechanism established a year ago, the Interbank Fund will have to manage more than double the files. In the event that all interested parties present an application, there would be around 12 transactions, due to joint registrations and multiple purchases which need to be treated separately.
At the moment, however, according to what Paterna declared to the press agency, "repayments are going very well, we have now picked up a certain pace and the liquidations, which have so far taken place on a weekly basis, could become bi-weekly if not 'tap' “. During this week the institution will increase liquidations in order to respond to the very high amount of requests, which arrived at the end of September, and which have reached their deadline.
