Banks, Mussari (Abi): appeal against Eba for protection of national interest

Hard line against the European request for a capital increase of 15,4 billion: "We will continue on this path with all the legal instruments that the Italian and European legal system makes available" - "This is democracy: no slavish respect for the Authority of supervision, but dialectic and dissent with respect to a wrong measure".

Banks, Mussari (Abi): appeal against Eba for protection of national interest

Abi will do appeal against the EBA recommendation for “legitimate protection of the national interest”. This was announced by the president of Abi, Joseph Mussari, emphasizing that the Association "will continue on this path with all the legal instruments that the Italian and European legal system makes available".

The Continental Banking Authority requires the credit institutions of our country a total recapitalization of 15,4 billion.

“When errors of this importance are made, without evaluating the macroeconomic effects of the exercise – continued Mussari -, one cannot remain silent. It's not disrespect." There will therefore be an appeal, "because this is democracy: not slavish respect for the Supervisory Authority, but dialectic and dissent with respect to a wrong provision".
