BANKS – Consob will not be the arbiter of betrayed savings

Consob will not be the arbiter of cases of savings betrayed by the four banks in crisis: the Government specified this with the amendment to the Stability Law which will try, with a 100 million Fund, to meet savers in the event that deceptions were established against them

BANKS – Consob will not be the arbiter of betrayed savings

It can not be a player like Consob the arbiter of savings cases betrayed in four banks in crisis (Banca Popolare dell'Etruria e del Lazio, Banca Marche, Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara and Cassa di Risparmio di Chieti): it was the Government itself that clarified this with the amendment to the Stability Law prepared for the establishment of an interbank fund from 100 million to compensate at least in part (about 30% of the investment made) the savers who have suffered losses and have been deceived by the institutions in question.

The arbitration will be carried out by independent personalities who will have to examine each case on a case-by-case basis.

The Government also intends to propose to Parliament the establishment of a commission of inquiry to ascertain all responsibility for the case, even if in the ranks of the opposition there is no shortage of those who would like to lump everything together and gain electoral consensus on the betrayed savings. with blows of populism and demagoguery.
