Banks and banking foundations: open doors with culture

Banks and banking foundations: open doors with culture

The 3th edition of Invitation to the Palace, the event promoted by the ABI which every year, for an entire day, showcases works of art and masterpieces preserved in the historic and modern offices of banks and foundations of banking origin. Until 10 October, the experience will continue in digital form with live streaming events, videos and virtual visits on the portals of banks, foundations and the Bank of Italy. All digital contributions will be available on the event website (www.palazzi.abi.it) and on Muvir.eu (www.muvir.eu), the digital museum of banks in Italy.

The event takes place under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic and has the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

The President of ABI, Antonio Patuelli, declared: “Invito a Palazzo 2020 is strengthened and renewed by meeting the organizational needs dictated by the emergency still in progress. The event will take place mainly in digital form through the promotion of audio-video and multimedia contents shared with the general public on digital channels, thus allowing visitors to have a new and engaging experience to approach knowledge from different points of view. On Saturday 3 October, as usual, it will be possible to visit, in compliance with the measures to contain all risks, some historic and modern offices of banks and foundations of banking origin, art collections, temporary exhibitions, historical archives and much more. ”

The President of Acri, Francesco Profumo, declared: "Not even the pandemic has stopped Invito a Palazzo: this traditional autumn appointment in which the historic buildings of Banks and Foundations open their doors to allow communities to admire the art treasures that they guard. This year the visits will be mainly virtual, but nonetheless they will be less interesting for the public that will participate. Because also, and perhaps above all, in these times of uncertainty we need to rediscover the beauty of the historical and artistic heritage of our territories, which constitutes an irreplaceable portion of our identity. With the hope of being able to return as soon as possible to admire them live. For this reason, the Foundations of banking origin and the associated Savings Banks in Acre participate, as always, in large numbers in this event".

With Invitation to Palace 2020 tens of thousands of visitors will be able to access the extraordinary artistic and architectural heritage, furnishings and works of art from every era, kept and protected by the Banks operating in Italy and by the Foundations in their offices with a simple click, by browsing the banks' websites and foundations, on the event website, on the Muvir website and on the Banca d'Italia website. These contents can be accompanied by concerts, meetings with curators and artists, activities dedicated to children. Where there will be conditions, with respect for safety and distancing measures, there will be live openings.
