Banks, current accounts: Unicredit launches "Easy overdraft"

The bank can grant a facility which gives the account holder a convenient cash flexibility, thus having the possibility of arranging operations such as wire transfers, cash withdrawals, issuing of cheques, etc. even beyond the availability of the account within the Bank's predefined thresholds – Here's how it works.

UniCredit relaunches on retail and renews one of the most traditional and widespread banking products in Italy, the current account overdraft for consumers.

In fact, when you are the owner of a current account, it may happen that you need to use a sum of money in excess of the availability of your account. In this case, the bank can grant, subject to an assessment of creditworthiness, a facility which gives the account holder convenient cash flexibility, thus having the possibility of arranging operations such as wire transfers, cash withdrawals, issuing checks, etc. Also beyond the availability of the account within the predefined thresholds of the Bank.

However, this product too has recently been affected by the advent of new technologies, as well as by the persistence of an economic situation that is still complicated for many families. For this reason UniCredit has decided to renew the "overdraft" offered up to now to make it even more flexible and "multi-channel" and has thus launched "Easy Overdraft", thanks to which the customer now has the possibility to easily manage the product over time , personalizing the credit ceiling within the limits of the established ceilings, increasing or decreasing, according to one's needs.

With “Scoperto Facile” it is now possible to manage the amount agreed in a convenient and flexible way, such as through mobile banking (in this case the product has been reserved for account holders for at least 6 months, always with a pre-assessment of creditworthiness and a maximum management limit of 6.000 euros) or the bank's call centre.

During the activation phase, the customer will be able to request an "Easy Overdraft" for one of the four plafonds available (1.500 euros, 3.000 euros, 6.000 euros and 12.000 euros) which all provide for a single fixed rate (TAN 8,90% - APR 11,41%). There are no commissions to exercise the options to modify the agreed amount. For non-pre-credited customers only, UniCredit reserves the need to request the channeling of salary (or pension or other sources of income) in order to allow access to financing. The monthly fee is equivalent to the commission for the immediate availability of “DIF” funds (0,50% max on a quarterly basis), applied in proportion to the amount made available and to the duration of the assignment.
