Banks, Chamber rejects no confidence in Boschi

With a large majority, 373 votes against and 129 in favour, the Chamber rejected the motion of no confidence presented by M5s against the Minister for Reforms. In the morning, Boschi defended herself decisively, responding point by point to her "slanders and falsehoods" about her and her family: "A political attack on the government is underway"

The Chamber rejects the motion of no confidence against the Minister for Reforms, Maria Elena Boschthe. The assembly has just voted and rejected with 373 no, a large majority, the motion presented by the 5 Star Movement. M5s, Si-Sel, Lga Nord, FdI-An voted in favor for a total of 129 yes. On the other hand, Pd, popular area, conservatives and reformists, Ala, civic choice, Pi-Cd, Psi, linguistic minorities are against. Forza Italia did not participate in the vote as he had announced, prompting a harsh reaction from Matteo Slavini: if they do not vote no confidence, the alliance on the administrative offices he had threatened in the morning would skip.

The vote follows theMinister's speech which defended itself decisively from the attacks: there was no favoritism on the Banca Etruria affair; if my family were involved I would be the first to resign; if my father made a mistake he will pay but the talk show court will not decide it, he had told Montecitorio. Boschi retraced the stages of the story point by point which led, first to the commissioning of the Bank of which his father was vice president and then to the decree with which the government decided to rescue the 4 banks in crisis: in addition to Banca Etruria , also Banca Marche, Cassa Ferrara and Cari-Chieti. "Against me and my family - he said - a lot of falsehoods have been said: a political attack is underway against the government and my family".

The government has decided to entrust theAnti-corruption authority, chaired by Raffaele Cantone, the management of arbitrations for repayments to be assigned on a case-by-case basis to bondholders possibly defrauded by the dissolved banks.
