Bankers and doctors, new contracts signed: payroll increases

Category contracts renewed for two important sectors such as banking and doctors. As regards the national credit agreement, which had already expired in 2018, the ABI and the unions signed a renewal valid until 31 December 2022: the salary increase will be 190 euros on the average figure, with seven seniority increments, and will be disbursed in three tranches. The first, from 80 euros, in January 2020, the second from 70 euros in January 2021 and the third from 40 euros in December 2022. Initially, the banks had made an offer of only 135 euros on average.

The agreement then envisages, among other things, "the reduction for companies of the 10% penalty on entry wages for new hires", the incentive on the Employment Fund of 3.500 euros for new hires made in the South and the “right to disconnect”. In other words, the right of employees not to connect to company equipment outside working hours is recognised. Finally, on the front of job classifications, there is the transfer of the first and second levels "with the salary parameter being raised to the next higher level".

“After almost a year of complex negotiations – he commented the general secretary of Fabi, Lando Maria Sileoni -, first of all we obtained an important economic recognition for female and male workers, in line with the results of the banks, the profits achieved and the dividends distributed to shareholders. The agreement also confirms the centrality of the national contract with respect to group agreements”.

The salary increase for the new contract of about the same amount doctors, which they will already have from January or at the latest from February on average a gross increase of 125 euros per month (for thirteen months) on the basic salary and another 75 euros linked to the ancillary part of the salary. In practice, the approximately 130 doctors, veterinarians and all other professional managers of the NHS will be recognized with pay increases of 3,48% when fully operational.

Among other important news of the new contract signed very late and waited for 10 years, there is recognition of more funds for white coats subjected to greater workload and at risk of burnout. In particular, the new contract provides for the night watchman allowance, 30 euros more, which will thus raise it to 100 euros gross per night. More money also for emergency room doctors, the most worn out, which will see an increase of 50 euros per night bringing the allowance up to 120 euros. To counter "escape" from the NHS with the use of Quota 100, the healthcare companies will have the obligation to evaluate the possibility of recognizing the exemption from the "guards" of doctors over 62 years of age.
