Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna is not studying any capital increase as its capitalization levels are adequate for the bank's business model. This was stated by a source from the Emilian institute after the press rumors about an audit by the Bank of Italy on performing loans and a possible recourse to a capital increase if the market context deteriorates and if the Supervisory Authority were to raise the levels of coverage.
"No hypothesis of a capital increase is being studied", said the source, underlining that "the level of capitalization of the bank is adequate for the business model which is of a commercial nature". At the end of March, Bper had a Core Tier 1 of 8,20% against 8,27% at the end of 2012, a decrease essentially attributable to the consolidation of CR Bra within the group perimeter with an impact of 13 basis points.
Today was a black day in Piazza Affari for Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna stock: the stock closed with a loss of 7,68.
