Banca Mediolanum: farewell to the founder Ennio Doris

It went off in the night Ennio Doris, founder and honorary president of Banca Mediolanum. He was 81 years old. His wife Lina Tombolato – with whom Doris had been married since 1966 – and their two children, Sara and Massimo, gave the news of his death.

Cavaliere del Lavoro since 2002, Doris was from 1996 to 2015 managing director of Mediolanum Spa, the holding of the group which was later incorporated into Banca Mediolanum.

Until last November 3, Doris held the role of president of Banca Mediolanum, of which she later became honorary president, the same position she held in the Mediolanum Onlus Foundation.

In 2008, the company baton passed to his son Massimo, who has since then led Banca Mediolanum as CEO. The generational change in communication, on the other hand, took place in 2015, when Massimo also became the new face of the bank's advertising.

From 2000 to 2012, Doris was also a director of Mediobanca and Banca Esperia. "A great Italian is leaving us, I will miss him very much" commented Silvio Berlusconi who was the first to believe in the qualities of Ennio Doris, who had become his partner, friend and even a bit of a political and personal adviser.
