Banca Intermobiliare still rallying: +12%

The Banca Intermobiliare (Bim) stock starts with the turbo in Piazza Affari. Around 10:10 am shares mark a 12,9% jump at 1,54 euros, after the 13,8% shot of the previous session, which made it possible to eliminate the losses of the last month.

The banks controlled by the two Venetians that ended up in liquidation "continue their operations in an orderly manner" and are banks to all intents and purposes, the Bank of Italy clarified during the briefing with the press explaining the operation. It is especially about Banca Intermobiliare di Investimenti (BIM) and Farbanca spa. Prestinuova spa, Claris Factor spa, Claris leasing spa, financial companies that will also continue their operations in an orderly manner also remain under the management of the commissioner".

In particular, Bim has remained outside the activities of the now former parent company Veneto Banca which will be purchased by Intesa Sanpaolo and will flow into a public vehicle, which will be responsible for probing potential buyers interested in acquiring 100 percent. The asset is certainly very attractive, with investors expect the sale to be valued to the maximum.

Giorgio Girelli, CEO of the Turin bank, also expressed his opinion on the issue, underlining in some statements to the press: “I hope that times are as quick as possible and that the process can be concluded in a few months. I don't think it will be complicated. Bim is a very interesting and attractive subject for both financial and sector operators. In the past I have already had the opportunity to detect a certain interest”.

According to rumors, some private equity funds have expressed their interest. In the meantime, Bim will continue its ordinary operations and, as specified by Girelli himself to the press, he will continue the strategy already outlined: “We had started working to create a bank that would be autonomous and become a high-end private banking pole. Now let's resume that project, which had had a small stop ". The Piedmontese bank, which at the end of March had assets under management and administration amounting to €9,2 billion, it had already announced for some time its intention to leave the perimeter of the now former parent company Veneto Banca. The process had already started with the launch of a new information system.
