Banca Ifis plants over 2.000 trees in Lombardy and Veneto

Banca Ifis supports a greener future with two important ones reforestation projects in Italy. On the occasion of the Christmas holidays, thanks to the collaboration with the WoW Nature company, the bank donated a new tree to each of its employees to mitigate and reduce CO₂ emissions into the environment, for a total of almost 1.900 specimens that will be planted next spring in the Brenta River Park in the province of Padua and in the Oglio Sud Regional Park. The other initiative, launched by the municipality of Milan with Arbolia – a benefit company of Snam and the Cdp Foundation – and Forestami, aims to plant 3 million new trees in Milan by 2030. Banca Ifis will contribute 350 trees of native species to the project, thus promoting the creation of new green lungs.

Both initiatives are part of the bank's commitment to sustainability over the past year. We recall that Banca Ifis has set up an internal committee dedicated to environmental sustainability and was the first challenger bank in Italy to join the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, the initiative promoted by the United Nations to accelerate the green transition of the international banking sector.

This year the bank has also promoted initiatives of The circular economy, donating over 500 pieces of furniture (desks, wardrobes, shelves and chairs) from the former Milan offices in Corso Venezia to 12 non-profit organizations in support of solidarity projects in Italy and abroad. All the discarded material has been recovered and reinserted in new contexts.
