Banca IFIS is green: from 2020 clean energy in all offices

Banca IFIS chooses clean electricity to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and its environmental impact. On the basis of the contract signed with Enel Energia, from 1 January 2020 the bank will employ in all offices and branches in Italy (for a total of 35 real estate units) only green energy from 100% renewable sources: wind, photovoltaic, geothermal, hydroelectric, biogas, biomass. Based on consumption of 3,7 million kWh for 2020, a CO2 reduction of around 1 ton is estimated.

For the Venetian bank it is a responsible investment fueled by a strong mission: the new supply agreement is a further step in an ambitious industrial strategy which sees the institute strongly committed to the issue of environmental sustainability both in terms of energy saving, as demonstrated by the recent renovations of the offices in Rome, Florence and Mondovì according to the highest eco-compatibility standards (efficient and functional spaces, mobile furnishings, flexible workstations) and in the implementation of eco-sustainable solutions ranging from separate waste collection to paper recycling up to drinking water dispensers for an increasingly plastic-free Bank.

Not only that: in October Banca IFIS launched the first of a series of products/services to encourage ecological behavior and improve the quality of life of customers and stakeholders. It's about IFIS Green Leasing: a financial offer which, in addition to the leasing contract for the purchase of plug-in electric/hybrid vehicles, includes a package of ancillary services ranging from car consultancy/insurance to the assignment of rewarding vouchers and discount vouchers for top-ups public or for the purchase of recharging infrastructure.

In the first months of 2020, the works will finally start for the construction of a new building in Mestre, in via Terraglio, according to the expansion project of the Bank's General Management approved by the Municipality of Venice. The new structure, which will be flanked by 2.300 square meters of greenery, will be energetically autonomous thanks to the provision of highly energy-efficient systems and the use of heating and air conditioning systems powered only by renewable sources.
