The agreement provides for financing contracts at advantageous rates for all companies with up to 250 employees, in any eligible sector – excluding financial and real estate investment projects.

Banca Ifis and EIB, agreement to allocate 100 million to Italian SMEs

A maxi investment of 100 million, all intended to support the growth of small and medium-sized Italian enterprises: this is the result of the agreement between Banca IFIS and the EIB, the European Investment Bank. The continental institute makes 50 million available, while the Veneto bank will add its own resources for the same amount, thus raising the total ceiling to 100 million euro. This is IFIS's first agreement with the EIB, reflecting Banca IFIS's commitment to supporting and contributing to the development of the country's entrepreneurial fabric, with particular attention to SMEs that stand out for their innovation and dynamism.

“Banca IFIS has always supported small and medium-sized Italian businesses with professionalism and strong product and service specialization. The operation with the EIB, the first in the Bank's history, is further confirmation of our commitment and willingness to introduce new finance into the Italian economic system where today a climate of distrust and asphyxiated growth are weighing heavily”, he explains the Chief Executive Officer of Banca IFIS Luciano Colombini.

“The EIB is very pleased to sign this first operation with Banca IFIS aimed at diversifying the tools and vehicles of support for small and medium-sized Italian companies that create jobs, promote innovation and increasingly use sustainable processes. The EIB loan will allow Banca IFIS to disburse loans to companies with terms and interest rates in line with the economic life of the underlying projects”, commented Miguel Morgado, EIB Director for Italy, Malta and the Balkans.

interested companies must not exceed, at a consolidated level, 250 employees. All productive sectors are involved: agriculture, crafts, industry, services, tourism, commerce, transport, energy and the environment. Banca IFIS will make loan agreements available to these companies, at more advantageous interest rates and terms. The eligible projects concern: tangible and intangible investments, including the purchase of plant, equipment and machinery, expenses for research, development and innovation, for environmental protection and renewable energy, as well as financing the working capital necessary for the activity operational. I am excluding pure financial and/or real estate investment projects.
