Banca Ifis buys unsecured loans from Consel for 230 million

Bank Ifis bought from Consel Spa, a Banca Sella Group company that operates in the consumer credit sector, a portfolio of unsecured (unsecured) hard-to-collect loans with a total nominal value of approx. 230 million euro. The portfolio boasts around 32.000 positions and is made up of personal loans (66%) and special purpose loans (34%). More than 20 national and international players including banks, investment funds and asset management companies took part in the tender.

“We are proud that Consel has chosen to collaborate with us, a choice that further strengthens the leading role that Banca Ifis boasts in the Italian NPL market – he said Andrew Clamer, head of the NPL Area of ​​Banca Ifis – for us this is the fifth acquisition of the year, for a value of almost 4 billion, about double what was acquired in 2014 and ten times compared to the transactions concluded in 2013”.

With this transaction, the non-performing loan portfolio owned by Banca Ifis reaches approximately 9,4 billion euro, for over 1 million positions.
