Deposito102 is the new Guber Banca product: a medium-long term restricted online deposit account, intended for Italian private savers. Starting from 8 October, Deposito102 will offer depositors an opportunity to invest their savings, with a return based on a gross interest rate on an annual basis of up to 2% for amounts between 5.000 and 200.000 euros, bound by a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 60 months.
There was no lack of skepticism in the face of the uncertainties that are affecting the markets and which would seem to discourage the launch of a financial product in this phase, Guber's CEO Francesco Guarneri replied that "the funding market is globalizing: we can attract German savers, who have negative rates at home, while here they get up to 2%, with the security of coverage up to 100.000 euros guaranteed by the interbank deposit protection fund”.
After obtaining the banking license from the ECB last March, Guber completed the IT migration operations which allowed the Bank to develop Deposito102. In the coming months, Guber Banca will expand its offer of digital services with initiatives aimed at SMEs, positioning itself as a specialist bank, with 27 years of experience in the management of non-performing loans.
“Deposito102 is the first step of the three-year development project, presented to the Regulator, which starts a new chapter in the history of Guber. The credit sector is experiencing an irreversible process of disintermediation characterized by a growing demand from companies, even small ones, for greater efficiency and speed in the management of the credit policy", declared Francesco Guarneri, CEO of Guber Banca, on the occasion the presentation of Deposito102 at the Microsoft headquarters in Milan. “Strengthened by a consolidated process finance model on which it bases its business, Guber Banca intends to position itself on the Italian market as a challenger bank specialized in active and dynamic credit policy management, capable of anticipating the problem of outstanding debts for companies starting by an accurate profiling of commercial risks”.
Guarneri concluded by stating: "The listing (on the Stock Exchange) is for now an intention, not a project, but we don't want to preclude ourselves from any growth objectives".
