Banca Generali: Mossa is the new number one

Gian Maria Mossa is the new number one of Banca Generali. The decision came yesterday evening during the institute's board of directors which conferred on the former general manager of the group's private bank the necessary powers to take over the company after the premature death of the managing director Pier Mario Motta.

Instead of appointing an external subject, Banca Generali's board of directors clearly preferred to give the markets a signal of continuity with a past management who managed the institution well.

41 years old, with Banca Generali since July 2013, Mossa became general manager in March 2016. Since yesterday, the manager has received all the powers previously held by the managing director, with the exception of the control functions which will instead be managed by the board in full compliance with the best practice required by the ECB.

At the same time, Giovanni Luca Perin, Chief HR & Organization Officer of Generali Italia was co-opted as a non-executive director.
