Bank of England: Governor will remain until 2019

No resignations at the BoE. The governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, has announced that he intends to remain at the helm of the Institute until 2019 to ensure an "orderly transition" towards the exit of Great Britain from the European Union.

Once Prime Minister Theresa May's trust was registered, Carney therefore denied the rumors about her imminent resignation - despite the ferocious attacks received by the Brexit party -, but at the same time ruled out the possibility of completing her eight-year mandate , which would end in 2021.

Before the referendum of June 23, Carney had launched a series of warnings about the possible economic consequences of Brexit, attracting criticism from the Conservative party in power.
