Digital bank, Intesa Sanpaolo and Politecnico Torino become partners

The digitization of the new banking professions requires increasingly specific technical skills, which must be trained from a very young age. This is why Intesa Sanpaolo has just entered into a collaboration agreement with the Polytechnic of Turin, for the activation of traineeships for students and the organization of a cycle of testimonials to male and female students by the managers of the leading Italian bank. The internships, which may be curricular or extra curricular, have a duration of six months, are intended for the degree courses of the Data, Cyber and Digital fields and will take place directly in the Intesa Sanpaolo offices. The testimonials from managers will instead focus on topics such as the circular economy, business sustainability, sustainable management of workspaces, evolutions in the ESG field, artificial intelligence at the service of sustainability and Cloud Regions.

“The banking sector – comments the rector of the Polytechnic Guido Saracco – today represents an interesting job opportunity for our graduates, also given the rapid technological transformation that is affecting it. Just think of the increasingly decisive role that all disciplines related to digital (and in particular artificial intelligence, data science and cyber security) and the issues of sustainability and circularity of economic activities in which a banking institution such as Intesa Sanpaolo is engaged on an international scale. For its part, the Polytechnic of Turin has already made major investments in new degree courses and teaching methods in these areas, anticipating important needs for the future. The possibility of getting in touch with a European-level reality to develop joint activities will therefore undoubtedly be an important added value for our future for our students and graduates and also an important element of specialization of our territory and of attracting young people " .

“With 8.600 people, over 10% of the 75.500 employees in Italy, Intesa Sanpaolo is the leading private employer in Piedmont – adds Paola Angeletti, Intesa Sanpaolo Chief Operating Officer -. The enormous development of digitization has changed the framework of the banking professions. Today, more than 1.700 people work in the IT and digital area of the Bank in Piedmont, a third of them are under 35 years old. The Polytechnic of Turin is a national excellence with which we have a consolidated relationship for the exchange of skills and for the recruitment of its graduates and it is one of the highest quality basins to draw from for the next recruitments in Italy, 3.500 by 2040. This is why we strongly backed the agreement with the Polytechnic with which we share our roots in the Piedmont area and our commitment to the country's growth".
