Profit jump for Camfin (25,2 million), the company expects to close the year with a profit

Pirelli's largest shareholder makes up the lion's share of the group's other industrial holdings. Profits soared compared to 1,6 million in the same period of 2010 – The stock finished up at the end of the Stock Exchange session: +1,01% to 0,3913 euro per share.

Camfin, the largest shareholder of the Pirelli group (25,54%), archives a leap in profits to 25,2 million euros in the half year (1,6 million in the first six months of 2010) and therefore expects to close 2011 with a profit . A result that mainly depends on the growth in income from equity investments to 36,6 million from 12,4 million, including above all from the Pirelli and Prelios subsidiaries.

The other industrial holdings instead recorded a negative result: Pirelli Eco Technology filed a loss of 6,6 million euro from 5 million in the first half of 2010, due to the slowdown in the sales of filtering systems essentially due to the uncertainties of the regulatory context both nationally and internationally; Pirelli ambiente closed with a negative net result of 4,5 million euro against 2,6 in the same period of 2010.

Camfin also points out that, starting from 1 July 2011 and until 16 December 2011, requests to exercise the “2009 – 2011 Camfin ordinary share warrants” may be presented. Warrant holders will be able to subscribe Camfin ordinary shares, with no par value, in the ratio of three Camfin ordinary shares for every seven warrants presented for exercise, at a price of 0,23 euro for each new share subscribed. The shares subscribed in exercise of the warrants will have the same dividend rights as Camfin ordinary shares traded on the Stock Exchange on the effective date of the exercise of the Warrants. The data was released just under half an hour after the closing of the Stock Exchange. The stock ended the session up 1,01% at 0,3913 euro per share.
