Brazil ballot, polls: Dilma Roussef ahead at 46%

It will be a razor's edge runoff that will take place on Sunday 26 October between Dilma Rousseff and Aécio Neves for the presidential elections in Brazil. According to the latest poll published yesterday by Datafolha, the outgoing head of state is three percentage points ahead of his social democratic rival.

Rousseff is in fact credited with 46% of voting intentions, against 43% for Neves. 5% of the people contacted by the institute stated that they would vote blank or void, while 6% said they were undecided.

The analysis of some segments of the sample indicates that Dilma Rousseff has strengthened her popularity among men, especially the younger ones, and among voters with an average income and level of education in the regions where her rival had obtained first round a greater advantage (South-East and Central-West).

On the other hand, Neves will also be able to count on the support of the great defeat of the first round, Marina Silva.
