Baldassarri (Fli): All the tricks of the maneuver

According to the senator from the third pole, not only does the August maneuver "do not reset the public deficit in 2013", but it raises "the tax burden to 45,4%", because "the Government has used the trick of putting that additional revenue, equal to twenty billion euros, which should come from the tax and welfare reform".

Baldassarri (Fli): All the tricks of the maneuver

“If what happened in the Chamber of Deputies was due to sloppiness and not to a fact of political divergence, the sloppiness would be more serious than the political divergence. In these days they are watching us from all over Europe and from all over the world: and so, Mr. President, we pose you a formal and substantial problem". With these words Mario Baldassarri, Senator Fli, spoke yesterday in the Hall of Palazzo Madama, after the clamorous rejection in Montecitorio of the first article of the budget law.

Regarding the update note of the Def, Baldassarri claims that – according to official data – it is possible to conclude that “the maneuver of August represents an increase in revenue of 92 billion euros, which it does not reset the public deficit in 2013 and that the tax burden will go to 45,4%, because the Government has used the trick of putting in italics, under its assessment of the tax burden - coincidentally - that additional revenue, equal to twenty billion euros, which should come from the tax and welfare reform".

But that's not enough. According to the Senator of the Third Pole, the document also contains "a blatant formal forgery“. In particular, in table 7a, which is entitled "Public administration account under current legislation". Baldassarri points out that "the expression 'to current legislation' means that the maneuvers of July and August, which are laws in force, are incorporated into those figures”. However "in the table there are data relating to the years 2009 and 2010, with the final numbers, and to the years from 2011 to 2014, with the estimated numbers, which incorporate the legislation in force".

At this moment, therefore, the table "has a fake title, because the final balance with the numbers relating to 2010 is not legislation in force. For the first time we find ourselves examining a table that has a title that refers to current legislation, but which contains data and figures, in the column relating to 2010, which are not current legislation". Baldassarri concludes his speech with an appeal addressed directly to President Schifani: "Please reflect a bit together, because it's not about the majority and the opposition, but about the correctness and sense of the institutions".
