Gambling online, the Government goes against a motion by the Northern League

The government slips on slot machines. The executive was beaten in the Senate floor in the vote of a motion by the Northern League, voted by a large majority, which prohibits the opening of new online gambling centers for one year, on the web and in places open to public

The reaction of undersecretary Alberto Giorgetti (PDL) was immediate, announcing that he will hand over gaming responsibility to Economy Minister Saccomanni. Giorgetti defined the Northern League's motion "so peremptory as to be inapplicable, if not by creating a conflict with the existing rights of the concessionaires who won the tenders and lost 6 billion in revenue".

Felice Casson, senator of the Democratic Party explained that "everything happened in a moment of great confusion in the Chamber. In practice it was a question of a voting error".

On the other hand, the motion of the 5 Star Movement which proposed, among other things, the cancellation of article 14 of the Imu decree which provides for the amnesty for slot machine concessionaires was rejected.
