AXA Private Equity, a leading diversified private equity firm in Europe, announces today that it has entered into an agreement for the acquisition – through its Infrastrutture fund – of Unicredit's 40% stake in HISI (Holding of Investments in Healthcare and Infrastructures). AXA Private Equity already owns 40% of the share capital of HISI and, following the acquisition, the Group will hold 80% of the company's capital.
HISI is a holding company that owns 65% of Genesi Uno, an Italian project company, which has obtained a 28-year concession for the design, construction and management of a 550-bed hospital in Legnano, Lombardy. The construction of the hospital started in March 2006 and was completed in February 2010.
Genesi Uno provides non-medical services to the hospital, including cleaning, hazardous waste management, maintenance, security, green area management, laundry and catering. Since it began providing services, the company has demonstrated its ability to operate at the highest level, providing first-class services to both patients and hospital staff.
AXA Private Equity will partner with Techint Group, a multinational group operating worldwide, which will hold the remaining 20% stake in HISI.
