Autumn dividends: from Eni to Stm (with an eye on Intesa Sanpaolo) here are the year-end coupons

La coupon season it's not over yet. Coupon season is about to begin. It depends on the perspective with which you decide to look. The fact is that, if you thought that with the D-Day of May 22nd for 2023 the dividends were over, you were wrong. Indeed, in Piazza Affari the autumn coupons will begin on 18 September. And between the first installment or interim dividend for 2023, quarterly dividends and dividend balances for 2022, there will be something for everyone.

Autumn dividends: starting with Eni

To open the dances will be a ninety piece of the Ftse Mib: Eni, which will issue the first tranche of 0,24 euro of the 2023 dividend equal to a total of 0,94 euro. The oil giant led by Claudio Descalzi, as already done many years ago stmicroelectronics, decided to follow the American model, paying the coupon in 4 quarterly installments in March, May, September and November.

“Italian companies that opt ​​for the payment of a fractional dividend during the year they are typically large groups, often under public control, in sectors such as utilities or energy between cui Enel, Eni, Snam and Terna» explained Alberto Villa, head of equity research at Intermonte in Milano Finanza. “The practice is less frequent among industrialists, consumers and financial with some exceptions such as Poste Italiane, Banca Mediolanum and Stm. These securities guarantee the shareholder a more frequent and regular remuneration, normally every six months. It is a question”, he continued, “of the distribution of an advance of the current year's profits with the balance of the dividend to approve the financial statements”.

But Eni and Stm are not the only companies that will pay part of their dividends between now and the end of the year. Also to watch Intesa Sanpaolo whose board of directors - on November 3rd - will decide on the advance on 2024. 

Instead, the following have already decided what to do:

Piaggio, that on 18 September it will detach an interim payment of 0,125 euro on the 2023 dividend;

Stm, which on the same day will issue the third tranche of its quarterly dividend. The fourth will instead be on 11-13 December. In both cases the amount is 0,06 euro.

ENAV: dividend of 0,1967 euros on October 20-22,

Mediobanca: dividend of 0,85 euro on 20-22 November.

It should not be forgotten that Banca Generali will pay off a balance of 19 euro on the current year's dividend on 2024 February 0,65 (1 euro advance payment in May 2023). Overall, Gian Maria Mossa's institute will pay a coupon of 2022 euros per share for the 1,65 financial year.
