From August 31st to December 30st, communicates the Ministry of Transport, "the reduction of the motorway toll for motorcyclists enters into force on an experimental basis with the aim of optimizing the use of the motorway". A measure "long awaited by the sector, which is achieved thanks to the agreement reached between the ministry and Aiscat". The pricing that will be activated "provides for a XNUMX% reduction for motorcycles with license plates that can travel on the motorway, and will only be possible for customers who have an electronic toll contract (Telepass)".
“The failure to distinguish between cars and motorcycles – said Minister Graziano Delrio at the presentation of the agreement – is an all-Italian peculiarity in the European context, an injustice that will now be overcome. A change rightly requested loudly by many protagonists, including trade associations and motorcyclists, to optimize the use of the motorway”.
“Now – added Delrio – the request of the heads of the Ministry of Transport has met the availability of Aiscat and has resulted in an agreement, which recognizes a reduced toll. At the moment on a provisional and experimental basis, with the aim of achieving the inclusion of a specific toll class for two-wheelers. We will verify the impact of the measure in December”.
