Rights and protection of children: the process for the appointment of the new guarantor of the Authority is under way. It will be the presidents of the Senate and the Chamber who will evaluate, choose and appoint, but in the meantime whoever intends to stand as a new guarantor of theAuthority for children and adolescents must apply by 12 April exclusively by certified email, by sending an email to both of the following addresses:

The message must contain a detailed curriculum accompanied by an identity document
The holder of the Authority is chosen from among independent personalities of undisputed morality and with professional competence in the field of minors' rights, as well as family and educational problems linked to the promotion and protection of the youngest.
The mandate lasts four years, during which one cannot exercise, under penalty of forfeiture, any professional, entrepreneurial or consultancy activity, nor be a director or employee of public or private bodies. Nor is it possible to hold other public offices of any kind, nor to hold elective positions or assignments in associations, non-profit organizations of social utility, professional orders or in any case in bodies that carry out activities in the sectors of childhood and adolescence.
If the person chosen is a civil servant, according to the legal system to which he belongs, he is placed off the tenure or on unpaid leave for the entire duration of the mandate. Finally, the holder cannot hold positions or positions within political parties or movements of political inspiration for the entire period of the mandate.
The current owner of the Authority, Filomena Albano, has reached the end of her mandate. She judge of the court of Rome, she had been nominated by Piero Grasso and Laura Boldrini.
