Autogrill: 18-year contract signed with Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida

The Italian company has signed an 18-year contract for the management of the catering activities of 25 points of sale at Fort Lauderdale International Airport – The initial estimate speaks of total revenues of 1,2 billion dollars – Autogrill stock advances, soars World Duty Free.

Autogrill lands in Fort Lauderdale, thus completing its presence in the top list of the 30 busiest airports in the United States. The Italian group active in catering and retail sales, through the American division HMSHost, has signed a contract to be awarded the management of catering activities in 25 points of sale in the Hollywood International Airport of the Florida city.

The agreement reached is communicated in a press release issued by Autogrill which informs on the first estimate of revenues, which speaks of total revenues of 1,2 billion dollars in the period 2014-2032. “Our entry into Fort Lauderdale airport – declared the CEO of the Italian group Gianmario Tondato Da Ruos -, through an 18-year concession, higher than the average of contracts in this channel, confirms our leadership in the northern market American, the most important for the group's business, where we generate about 50% of the turnover".

The premises will open to the public between spring 2014 and the second half of 2017, in relation to the expansion works of the airport. In 2012 alone, the Fort Lauderdale airport welcomed over 23 million travelers.

The announcement of the contract gave impetus to the group's titles. in fact, in the late morning Autogrill increased by 1,11% in Piazza Affari, while World Duty Free, the subsidiary whichoncentra all the group's airport and duty free trading activities, it gained 2,81%, making it one of the best stocks in the Ftse Mib.
