Autogrill: first quarter 2014 revenues at 813 million, loss at 37 million

The first quarter of 2014 for Autogrill closed with sales of 813 million, down 1% compared to last year, and with a net loss of 37,1 million – The group was awarded 21 restaurant areas in Italy for a total value of approximately 2 billion euros.

The Autogrill group closed the first quarter of 2014 with sales of 813 million, down 1% compared to the same period of the previous year. Net of the effect deriving from the sale of the US Retail Branch, consolidated revenues grew by 2,6% (+0,2% at current exchange rates). The net loss attributable to owners of the parent company was 37,1 million, compared to 31,2 million in the same quarter of the previous year.

In the weeks following the end of the first quarter, the evolution of sales was positive, explains the group: sales in week 18 were in line with the comparative period and, if the sales of the US Retail Branch are excluded from the latter they increased by 3,7% (-0,8% at current exchange rates).

As regards 2014, Autogrill expects revenues of around 3,86 billion, down on the 3,9985 billion of 2013. The effect of the different exchange rate used (1,37 euro/dollar) is around 60 million lower sales. The 2013 figure included sales in the first nine months of the US Retail Division sold in September, which amounted to €101,5 million.

In the first half of the year Autogrill continued its development activity by being awarded 21 restaurant areas in Italy for a total value of 2,1 billion euro.
