Autogrill: Board of Directors positive opinion appoints Roverato as new CEO Co-opted 6 new administrators

The board of directors of Rest co-opted six new directors and gave a positive preliminary assessment on the appointment of Paul Roverato as new Ad.

Roverato, who resigned from the position of chairman last week, has been indicated to lead the company by the new reference shareholder Dufry, and will take the place of the outgoing Gianmario Tonto Da Ruos, which had been in the Autogrill group since 2000.

A new board meeting is scheduled for the next few days which will appoint Roverato and the new president, as well as the composition of the new board committees, says a statement.

The six new advisors non-executive co-opted are: Bruno Chiomento, Francisco Javier Gavilan, Nicolas Girotto, Marella Moretti, Emanuela Trentin and Xavier Rossinyol Espel.

Le nominated will be effective from the transfer to Dufry of the 50,3% stake held in Autogrill by Edizione through the wholly owned subsidiary Schema Beta.

The rotation of directors

THErotation of administrators had been communicated on 23 January (they will replace those who resigned from their respective offices on the same date). As stated in a note, the Board "expressed unanimous words of sincere thanks to the outgoing directors for the activity carried out in the board environment and in particular to the chief executive officer Gianmario Tondato Da Ruos, who served in the Autogrill group since 2000, for the important contribution made over the years and for the crucial role played in the growth of the Autogrill Group”.

Last July between Autogrill and the Swiss Dufry a merger had been signed from which a global group in the catering and retail services sector for travelers should be born, with combined revenues of over 12 billion euros and an Ebitda of approximately 1,3 billion (2019 data - pre pandemic).

Il closing of the transaction had been indicated for the first quarter of this year when dufry launch aopa addressed to the minority shareholders of Autogrill (with a view to delisting) at the price of 6,33 euros. Today, Autogrill shares are at €6,69, down 0,68%.
