Auto, EU searches Volkswagen and Daimler offices

Brussels has announced that it has carried out new checks that are part of the investigation into German car manufacturers, accused of having secretly agreed on prices and technologies in recent decades. Volkswagen reports that the search also covered the Audi offices in Ingolstadt.

After the searches of the BMW headquarters last week, the tug of war continues between the European Commission, which this time went to visit the offices Volkswagen e Daimler.

Brussels has announced that it has carried out new checks in Germany together with the staff of the German Antitrust. The Commission is in fact investigating suspicions of restrictive agreements and cartels between producers. The investigation concerns alleged practices anticompetitive. According to German press sources, Brussels' leaders suspect that the main German car manufacturers have secretly agreed on prices and technologies for years.

In the press release, the Community Antitrust specifies that these investigations do not in any way prejudice the position of the car manufacturers concerned or the outcome of the investigation.
