Cars: Toyota improves profit, BMW shines

The Japanese company archives the April-June period with a net profit of 587 billion yen (about 5,7 billion dollars), up 4,6% on the same period of the previous year – The German giant, on the other hand, closed the second quarter of the year with a net profit of 1,77 billion euros, up 27,2% year on year.

Cars: Toyota improves profit, BMW shines

Positive quarterly accounts for Toyota and BMW. The Japanese company closes the April-June period with a net profit of 587 billion yen (about 5,7 billion dollars), up 4,6% on the same period of the previous year thanks to spending cuts and the weakness of the yen. Revenues increased 2,2% to 6.390 trillion yen. Toyota confirms the estimates for the entire financial year: net profit at 1.780 billion yen and turnover at 25.700 billion.

As for bmw, the German giant closed the second quarter of the year with a net profit of 1,77 billion euros, an increase of 27,2% on the same period of 2013, against an operating profit of over 2,6 billion ( +26%). Revenues reached 19,9 billion (+1,8%).
