AUTO - Marchionne does not give up on the FCA-GM merger: "It is unreasonable not to force"

According to the FCA CEO, "it would be unreasonable not to force" the merger between FCA itself and GM because the numbers show that the reasons for the marriage "are indisputable2 - According to Marchionne, who rules out a hostile takeover bid, a company could be born from the merger" 30 billion dollars a year in cash”

Sergio Marchionne doesn't give up and vigorously returns to the charge on the merger between FCA and GM. “It would be unreasonable not to force it,” FCA's number one told Automotive News.

According to Marchionne, all the numbers say that the reasons for the marriage between the two automotive giants "are indisputable" and that it is an opportunity that cannot be missed even if a hostile takeover bid by FCA on GM itself is ruled out.

The FCA leader explains that a company with "30 billion dollars a year in cash" could be born from the marriage with GM and that there are alternatives to the marriage with GM ("Many have shown interest") but adds that he is not interested precisely because "there is a better agreement" which is precisely the one between FCA and GM of which the Italian-Canadian top manager has studied all the advantages, plant by plant and product by product.

Unfortunately, Marchionne regrets, GM has not yet responded to the advances of FCA ("They don't take my phone calls") but one thing is certain: the CEO of FCA will not give up and will continue to insist asking for the wedding between the two groups.
