Auto: FCA is fourth in Europe

In February, car registrations in EU countries grew for the 30th consecutive month (+14,3%) - Among the most important markets, Italy marks the best performance (+27,3%) - FCA sales rise by 22,4%, while the market share reaches 7,4%.

In February car registrations in Europe increased by 14% on an annual basis (after +6,3% in January), while those of FCA they beat the market once again, posting growth of 22,4% (+80.963 units). This is what emerges from the estimates published on Wednesday 16 March by Acea, the association of European manufacturers, according to which FCA has become the fourth group in Europe in terms of sales.

In general, the market last month in EU countries plus EFTA countries reported sales of 1,092 million units. In the EU alone, the growth in registrations in February (the thirtieth consecutive) was 14,3% and 1.056.902 units were registered. Among the most important markets, Italy marks the best performance with +27,3%, while France registers an increase of 13%, Spain of 12,6% and Germany of 12%.

As for Fiat Chrysler, the group's market share rose to 7,4%, from 6,9% in February 2015. Registrations of Fiat-branded cars grew by 24,4%, while those of the Jeep brand recorded an increase of 23,9%. Lancia-Chrysler (+15,9%) and Alfa Romeo (+8,6%) are also doing less well.

In light of these data, the stock on the FCA stock exchange it opened up 2,35%, at 6,965 euros, achieving one of the best increases in the Ftse Mib.
