Electric cars, from October 30 Enel columns on the Rome-Milan route

The first 30 fast charging stations for electric vehicles on long-distance roads will be active from Sunday 20 October. In fact, Enel has installed the first 10 Fast Recharge infrastructures as part of the EVA+ – Electric Vehicles Arteries project to which it has added a further XNUMX, to further enhance the fast charging network on extra-urban sections.

EVA+ is the electric mobility project which envisages the installation, over three years along extra-urban sections, of 200 fast charging stations, 180 in Italy and the other 20 in Austria. The programme, co-financed by the European Commission as part of the "Connecting Europe Facility", sees the collaboration of Enel, as coordinator, and Verbund (the main Austrian utility) together with some of the main manufacturers of electric vehicles at a global level. such as Renault, Nissan, BMW and Volkswagen Group Italia (represented by the Volkswagen and Audi brands).

With EVA+, the first recharging network is born which will allow the use of electric vehicles outside the city. The charging infrastructure installed is "Enel Fast Recharge Plus", the technology developed entirely by Enel which guarantees a full charge in less than 20 minutes, compatible with all electric vehicles on the market and in compliance with the highest safety standards.

Through this first group of installations of the EVA+ project, the Rome-Milan section was "electrified", with a recharging infrastructure approximately every 60 km. The 30 recharging points are mainly located in areas adjacent to the motorway accesses to allow their use also by those who use electric vehicles for out-of-town journeys with stops compatible with the recharging time, in places such as shopping centres.

To implement the project, agreements have been signed with shopping centers such as the Outlet Village circuit, Municipalities, hotels, restaurants, the ACI group and the Total Erg and API/IP service stations. Furthermore, thanks to an agreement between Enel and Anas, the first recharging station was installed in Rome on the stretch of motorway within the Grande Raccordo Anulare in the Selva Candida Esterna service area of Total Erg. The collaboration with Anas will lead, in October, to the installation of additional charging stations: one on the GRA and two on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway section. In Milan, on the other hand, the charging station has been installed in the API/IP service area in via La Spezia, and will serve not only extra-urban routes but also travel within the city.

In detail, the Municipalities that have joined EVA+ offering public areas near the motorway exits are: Barberino del Mugello, Florence, Orvieto, Cassino, Tortona, Trivolzio, Vicolungo, Carpi, Albisola Superiore, Ronco Scrivia, Sant'Ilario d'Enza Terranova Bracciolini.

Thanks to the agreement with the Outlets of the Multi management Blackstone group, each land of fashion will host a fast charging station. These are strategic points on the borders of the main motorway sections, in Valdichiana Outlet Village, Mantova Outlet Village, Franciacorta Outlet Village, Palmanova Outlet Village, Puglia Outlet Village. A further 6 fast charging stations have been located in the “i Petali” shopping centers in Reggio Emilia, Fidenza Shopping Park and the Meraville shopping park in Bologna; two in the municipalities of Carpi and Sant'Ilario d'Enza and another in the parking lot open to the public of the ACI delegation in Ferrara.

The one at the ACI headquarters in Ferrara, together with the installation of an additional charging station in the ACI Lainate safe driving circuit, is the result of a more extensive collaboration with ACI Vallelunga, which will lead to the creation, in the Roman racetrack, of the first Enel's research and development center for electric mobility, where all Enel technological solutions for recharging electric vehicles will be tested and promoted.
