Electric car, Enel X extends operations in Europe

Electric car, Enel X pushes the accelerator on Europe. Starting today, Tuesday 25 June, the group is making more than 6 charging points available, of which more than 800 outside Italy, which will become 1.600 by the end of 2020. This is the result of the agreements signed by Enel X with SMATRICS and IONITY, two of the main European charging network operators. It thus becomes possible for Italian motorists to use, via the X Recharge app, the charging points in Italy, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary.

“Interoperability is strategic for the development of electric mobility and offers our customers, through the X Recharge app, a complete and fluid service experience also through the networks of other charging infrastructure operators, without territorial limits. As a result, we plan to expand the interoperable network both through agreements with IONITY and SMATRICS and by opening up to new partnerships with other operators,” says Francesco Venturini, CEO of Enel X with satisfaction.

The IONITY network now has around a hundred super-fast charging sites (they will rise to 400 at the end of 2020). Similarly, SMATRICS has 450 charging points, 250 of which are fast in Austria. Italian motorists will be able to view the charging points on the X Recharge app and will not have to sign new contracts but will simply be able to use the charging facility. The app will also display access methods and prices.
