Restrictions on old diesels and vehicles of a category lower than or equal to Euro 3. Measures take effect from Monday 1st October anti-smog in some areas of Northern Italy: there will be many auto Diesel not being able to move. For some regions, in particular, an "agreement for the improvement of air quality in the Po Valley" has been reached, while it is difficult to find uniformity in the measures for the rest of the country. To improve air quality and in "combat air pollution", specifies article 1 of the agreement, which concerns Emilia-Romagna, Lombardia, Piemonte e Veneto, there is “a restriction on traffic from October 1st to March 31st of each year, to be applied by 1 October 2018, from Monday al Friday, from 8,30 pm 18,30, subject to indispensable exceptions, for cars and commercial vehicles of category N1, N2 and N3 with diesel fuel, of a category lower than or equal to Euro 3″.

“The limitation is extended to the category Euro 4 by 1 October 2020, to the category Euro 5 by 1 October 2025”they write. The limitation, they conclude, "applies primarily in the urban areas of municipalities with a population of more than 30.000 inhabitants where an adequate local public transport service operates, falling within areas in which one or more of the limit values of PM10 or nitrogen dioxide NO2”.
