Auto 2015: the market picks up, FCA flies

Last year, the DMV registered 1.574.872 vehicles, 15,75% more than in 2014 – The increase was 18,65% in December alone – FCA beat the market both in 2015 as a whole (+ 18,3%) and last month (+27,1%) – Despite Dieselgate, 2015 went well for Volkswagen in Italy too.

In Italy, the 2015 it was a year of recovery for everything the car market and especially for FCA. According to data released on Monday evening by the Ministry of Transport, last year the DMV registered 1.574.872 vehicles, 15,75% more than in 2014. Only to December, registrations were 109.395, increasing 18,65% every year.

In 2015, underlines the ministry, there were 4.589.823 transfers of ownership of used cars (+8,04%), of which 418.545 in December (+10,40%). Last month, the global sales volume (527.940 cars) thus involved 20,72% new cars and 79,28% used cars.

As for only fca, 2015 closed with 446 registrations, a result that increased by 18,3% compared to 2014. The group's market share was 28,3%, an improvement of 0,6 points compared to 2014. Fiat-Chrysler also beat the market in December, with sales increasing by 27,1 % and the market share which stood at 29,5% (+2 percentage points).

Despite the Dieselgate, in Italy 2015 also went well for Volkswagen. All brands did well: +7,87% VW, +9,65% Audi, +18,93% Seat, +15,96 Skoda. Positive results also in December with 8.198 registrations of Volkswagen (+12,16%) and 2.480 of Audi (+17,48%).
