The car company Audi, of the Volkswagen group, closed the first half of 2012 with an increase of 16,2% in revenues compared to a year earlier to 25,02 billion euros, 13,2% in operating profit to 2,88, 12,3 billion and 733.237% of sales to XNUMX units, "despite the strong recessionary trend especially in Southern European countries".
The German house communicates it, which confirmed the 2012 sales target of over 1,4 million units thanks also to the Audi A1 Sportsback, the Q3 and the new A3, on the market since the end of summer. All these models “will help Audi to achieve this goal and to secure growing shares in many markets”. Chief Financial Officer Axel Strotbek commented, “The high demand in the first half year testifies to the success of our model strategy. If the economic context does not continue to worsen, we expect an operating profit this year in line with 2011 despite an increase in costs for new products, technologies and an expansion of production facilities”.
