Audi flies thanks to China: BMW in the sights

Audi continues to grow and reduce the gap on rival BMW: Volkswagen's high-end brand increased sales by 13,1% in June, to 133.050 units. In the first quarter as a whole, the increase was 12,3%, with a total of 733.250 cars sold in the first six months of 2012.

In particular, the growth is supported by the Chinese market, which recorded a growth of 37,8% with almost 200 vehicles sold. To date, a quarter of Audis sold worldwide are sold in China, while Germany, the second largest market, now accounts for only 18% of the share. The challenge to BMW is increasingly launched, also by virtue of the fact that the German giant grew by only 4% in June and is slightly ahead with 747 cars placed in the first half.
