Auchan Holding, parent company of the famous French supermarket chain Auchan, recorded a net loss of 2017 million euros in the first half of 7 against a profit of 4 million euros a year earlier.

On the contrary Group sales after tax rose by 2,1% to 26,5 billion euros thanks to good results in Eastern Europe and China, while France remained slightly down (-0,7% ).

"These half-year results, which are up, are the first encouraging signs" of the reorganization plan implemented by the group over the past year, explains Auchan Holding in a note. “Immochan (shopping center management) and Oney (consumer credit) record good results, in line with expectations, and Auchan Retail respects the roadmap of its transformation dynamics, the first results of which are expected for 2018- 2019” commented Wilhelm Hubner, chairman of the Board of Auchan Holding.
