Enel Green Power's largest Italian wind farm activated in Sardinia

Once completed, the structure will have 39 wind turbines of 2,3 MW each and will become EGP's largest Italian wind farm. When fully operational, its 90 Mw of installed capacity will produce 185 million kilowatt hours a year, i.e. the consumption of 70 families, thus avoiding the emission of over 130 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

The first 40 of a total of 90 MW that will make up the installed capacity of the Portoscuso wind farm, in the Sulcis Inglesiante area, entered the grid today. Once completed, the structure will have 39 wind turbines of 2,3 MW each and will become Enel Green Power's largest Italian wind farm. When fully operational, its 90 Mw of installed capacity will produce 185 million kilowatt hours a year, i.e. the consumption of 70 families, thus avoiding the emission of over 130 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

“This is another important step in Enel Green Power's organic growth program, according to the development plans outlined and communicated to the market,” says Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel Green Power. “We are very proud of our presence in Sardinia, we will complete this important project in the coming weeks”.

Currently, there are 3 EGP wind farms in operation in Sardinia, with an annual production of over 240 million kWh, thanks to a total installed power of 161 MW which, with the new Portoscuso plant, will rise to more than 250 MW .
