Atlantia skids after precautionary measures for Ponte Morandi

Black day in Piazza Affari for Atlantia. After a passage in the volatility auction due to excessive downwards, at the end of the morning the stock on the stock exchange of the Benetton family holding leaves 5,4% on the field, at 22,84 euros. This is by far the worst decline in the entire Ftse Mib, which in the same minutes travels in positive territory of 0,4%.

The wave of sales on Atlantia shares was triggered by the news that the Guardia di Finanza of Genoa is carrying out an ordinance that also includes nine precautionary measures (as well as searches and seizures) under theinvestigation relating to the false attestations on the controls of the motorway viaducts resulting from the investigation into the collapse of the Morandi Bridge.

The precautionary measures were requested by the public prosecutor Walter Cotugno and signed by the investigating judge Angela Nutini.

According to a trader quoted by the Reuters agency, "the market has read this news negatively and fears that there may be talk of revoking the motorway concessions again".

The investigation began after the collapse of the viaduct over the Polcevera stream on 14 August 2018 and led to the entry in the register of suspects of 15 people including managers and technicians of Aspi and Spea.
