Atlantia, Castellucci: in 2012 we will go beyond our targets and invest more

The managing director from the Rimini meeting: "We believe that our accounts are safe thanks to international growth" - The goal will be to "optimize costs more and more", hoping that the spread will stabilize, otherwise "talk about infrastructure it would be illusory".

Atlantia's accounts are safe and for the whole of 2012 they will go beyond forecasts. This is the message launched by the company's managing director, Giovanni Castellucci, on the sidelines of the Communion and Liberation Meeting in Rimini.

“We believe our accounts are safe thanks to international growth. This year we are also thinking of improving our numbers”, explained Castellucci. As for the slowdown in the Bric countries in which Autostrade is present, the CEO believes that it is a "physiological and not worrying" phenomenon. These are countries that have had a pause for reflection and this is healthy".

On the investment front, this year Atlantia will deploy more resources than in 2011. The objective will be to "optimize costs more and more", in the hope that the spread will stabilize, otherwise "talking about infrastructure would be illusory".

According to Castellucci, it is necessary to "continue to accelerate in terms of investments", because "the conditions are there despite the spread" so much so that "this year we will invest more than last year". The infrastructures "are expensive" but "we cannot afford not to invest in improving mobility" even if this must be done "with a view to optimizing" the available resources.

"Let's move forward - concluded the CEO of Atlantia - we have confidence in the infrastructural financeability in Italy".
