Atlantia, Castellucci leaves with an incentive of over 13 million

Atlantia, Castellucci leaves with an incentive of over 13 million

Overwhelmed by the Genoa cyclone, Giovanni Castellucci took a step back leaving his chair as CEO and that of general manager of Atlantia, after more than 13 years. The Benetton family, which controls Atlantia which in turn controls Autostrade, pushed him, albeit reluctantly, to resign after the storm that hit the group not only due to the collapse of the Morandi bridge in Genoa but due to the discovery of false reports on maintenance of the highways.

On the other hand, Castellucci, in addition to the severance pay, takes home a gross gift of over 13 million, which the shareholder recognizes to avoid legal disputes. This is the outcome of today's extraordinary board meeting of Atlantia.

Castellucci will not be replaced immediately in the role of CEO and therefore his powers have been transferred to President Cerchiai. The new CEO of Atlantia will be chosen on the basis of the indications of the headhunters but it is not excluded that he will be identified within the group.

The board of directors instead proceeded to appoint the new general manager of the company in the person of Guenzi, former CFO of Atlantia.

In the meantime, today the stock on the Stock Exchange, after yesterday's collapse, has partially recovered positions, gaining 1,5%.
