1,1 billion euro contract for Astaldi which was awarded the design and construction of two lots of theMoscow-St. Petersburg highway. The artery project that will connect the two main Russian cities will be carried out in an equal joint venture with the Turkish company IC Ictas.
The note issued by Astaldi states that the joint venture will build the motorway "on behalf of the company Two Capitals Highway LLC - established by VTB Group and VINCI Concessions - which has been awarded the concession for the construction and management of the motorway by AVTODOR, the state company for the construction and development of the Russian toll highway network”.
The work is of particular strategic value for the infrastructural development of the country, also in view of the World Cup in Russia in 2018. The route will be partly 6 and partly 4 lanes, for traffic covered by speed limits at 150 km/h. The works will be started by the end of July, with an expected duration of 35 months.
The order in Russia worth 68 billion rubles sends Astaldi's shares flying at the opening. At 9,50 Astaldi shares gain 2,44% in Piazza Affari.
