Astaldi, order worth over 200 million for the Warsaw metro

The contract has a value of 209 million euros – The works are expected to be completed in 36 months, starting at the beginning of 2016 – The new contract provides for the executive design and construction of the eastern section of the route and the construction of the connection with the section center of the line.

Astaldi, order worth over 200 million for the Warsaw metro

The group Astaldi was awarded the contract for the extension of the Line 2 of the Warsaw Metro, in Poland, worth 209 million euros. The award, according to a note, follows the construction of the central section of the same line, also completed by Astaldi in March 2015.

The new contract provides for the pexecutive design and construction of the east section of the route and the construction of the connection with the central section of the line, as well as the civil and railway systems, the superstructure and all connected works. The works are expected to be completed in 36 months, starting in early 2016.

Client is Metro Warsaw, a public company that manages the city's metro on behalf of the Municipality of Warsaw. The works, adds the note, will be financed with European funds and a local budget.
