Another good result for Italian bond auctions. This morning the Treasury has placed 10 and 5-year BTPs for a total of 5,98 billion euros, the full amount offered. THE interest rates they stood respectively at 4,45% and 3,23%. These are the lowest values since November 2010.
In detail, 2,98 billion ten-year BTPs were sold at a rate of 4,45% - 47 basis points less than in the auction at the end of October - and 3 billion five-year BTPs at a rate of 3,23% - down from 3,80% in the previous month.
Immediately after the announcement of the result of the auction, the Italian spread moved slightly above 310 basis points, while Piazza Affari gained almost 2%.
