Assocamerestero kicks off today, 6 November, the public session of the XXVI World Convention of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad which began on 4 November in Turin and will end tomorrow. This is what we read in a press release from the Association of which the 78 Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CCIE), private, foreign and market entrepreneurial entities, and Unioncamere are members.
The initiative, organized together with the Chamber of Commerce of Turin and in collaboration with Unioncamere, sees the direct involvement of 170 representatives of the CCIE from 54 countries, as well as important local and national economic, institutional and entrepreneurial representatives.
The appointment represents an opportunity for discussion on issues related to business internationalization, the new services of the chamber system in support of Italian business in the world with particular attention to sectors related to the Italian lifestyle, among which the agri-food sector plays a role of first floor.
75% of the total services provided by the CCIE consists of activities that serve to facilitate business contacts, which, if added to the personalized assistance and consultancy activities, rise to approximately 82% of the services provided daily to allow businesses Italian companies to operate on the markets overseen by them.
This year the Convention is more business-coloured: around 300 companies have registered for the B2B meetings scheduled between today and tomorrow, which will see the participation of CCIE delegates and – an absolute novelty compared to previous editions – also international buyers mainly from China, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Russia and Turkey with over 700 appointments scheduled.
For the first time in the history of the Convention, a real competition was launched this year among the participating Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad: out of 22 projects presented by the CCIE of 15 countries, the Turin Chamber of Commerce selected 6 which have been considered among the most effective in promoting access by local companies to foreign markets and which could also be re-proposed on a national scale.
"The annual appointment of the Turin Convention constitutes a precious opportunity for exchange and comparison also in the light of the broader collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce system - commented the president of Assocamerestero, Gian Domenico Auricchio - which in this phase of reorganization of its services aims even more to build customized assistance paths with us for SMEs. Despite the flattering performance of our exports, there is still a great desire for Italy in the world and we want to make an important contribution to satisfy it."
According to the president of Unioncamere, Ivan Lo Bello, "with the reform of the chamber system, the chambers of commerce have become more efficient, with innovative functions also on internationalization where we are committed to bringing home an ambitious goal: identifying, training and preparing for export at least 10.000 new businesses in the next three years. An objective that we also intend to achieve through a process of collaboration with Ice and which may involve the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad."
