Assosim, Fineco still queen of shares and Akros of bonds

It's still Finecobank to dominate the rankings Assosim of volumes traded on stock market, while the queen of the market in the bond confirms Banca Akros.

The latest report from theAssociation of financial market intermediaries, based on the transactions made by the associates on the markets managed by Italian Stock Exchange, EuroTlx, Hi-Mtf, Equiduct and by some intermediaries in the capacity of systematic internalisers. 

In ranking “Actions”, Finecobank holds a market share of 26,08%, while Intesa Sanpaolo is in second place, with a 13,89% share and in third place is Banca Akros with an 8,65% share.

In the ranking for number of operations it is Finecobank itself which has the largest market share with 22,27%, followed by Intesa Sanpaolo with 14,69% and Banca Akros with 8,82%.

Sul bond segment and instead Banca Akros to dominate trading, with a market share of 33,04%, followed by Intesa Sanpaolo with 17,48% and Banca Cambiano with 8,99%. In the ranking by number of transactions, Intesa Sanpaolo has a market share of 24,75%, Banca Akros 24,38% and Finecobank 9,84%.

The report by Assosim (which has 70 associates including banks, SIMs and branches of foreign intermediaries, active on the primary, secondary and derivatives markets) also observes the trading trend in the year just ended and sees on the one hand a glittering stock market, on the other a fatigued bond market.

Piazza Affari - says the report - showed a Ftse Mib during 2021, a maximum since 2008 - the annus horribilis of the post-Lehman bankruptcy - with an increase of 23% compared to 2020 to 27.347. The FTSE Italia Star segment also recorded a new historical record, reaching 64.565 with an increase of 44,70%.
Two factors underlined by Assosim underlie this trend: the maintenance of the accommodating policies of the central banks and the interventions of the governments in support of the real economy to mitigate the economic consequences of the health emergency.

Instead the bond market he had to deal with investors' fears of a change of course by the authorities regarding monetary stimuli, of rising inflation and the possibility of a rise in interest rates.
The result was a DomesticMot that closed 2021 with a drop of 22,91% in exchange values ​​and -24,41% in the number of transactions.
The EuroMOT remained practically stable with a +0,37% of exchange values ​​and a 4,98% drop in the number of transactions. On the other hand, a drop for ExtraMOt which saw -84,65% and -92,14% respectively.
Instead, the HI-MTF market is going against the trend, closing 2021 with a leap of 41,55% and 12,48% respectively.

Il total exchange value on the Borsa Italiana stock market grew by 1,35% to 613 billion compared to 2020, while the number of contracts traded fell by 4,24% to 84 million.

La trade concentration fell slightly on the Ftse Mib (to 86,1% from 88,4%), while Euronext Growth Milan saw 123% growth with 4,5 billion against 1,6 million contracts (+93,26%).

As for the volumes traded on behalf of third parties, the rankings in the various markets managed by Borsa Italiana show the leading position of Finecobank on Euronext Milan Domestic with 18,60%, Intesa San Paolo on Euronext Growth Milan with 23,12%, Banca Akros on DomesticMot with a 34,70 .XNUMX% of the market on Futures.

From the rankings referring to the volumes traded on their own instead it is Societè Generale who takes the podium with Euronext Milan Domestic with 9,50%, followed by Banca Sella Holding on DomesticMot with 23,48% and by Intesa San Paolo on ExtraMOT with 42,76%.

Finally with regard to the total volumes traded (own account, third party account and matched principal) in the various markets from Borsa Italiana the first position is held by Finecobank on Euronext Milan domestic with 6,60%, followed by Intesa San Paolo on Euronext Growth Milan with 22,29% ea followed by Banca Akros on DomesticMOT with 18,23%, Equita Sim on stock options with 6,22% and Intermonte Sim on stock futures with 9,51% of the market.
